portable analyzers
Laser technology (LIBS)
Vulcan is one of the fastest metal analyzers on the market and is built to last, with a 3-year manufacturer’s warranty. It offers reliable material identification in just one second, based on laser-induced breakdown spectrometry and without any X-rays. This means there is no obligation to have a licence as is the case with XRF tools.
Benefits of LIBS
- Substantial increase in productivity
- - A higher number of analyses per day makes all the difference, especially for extensive inventories.
- Low operating costs
- - Because the Vulcan is a laser device, employees do not have to attend expensive and time-consuming radiation training and certification courses.
- Solid and durable
- - Vulcan has an IP54 rating (equivalent to NEMA3) and meets military standards of durability (MIL-STD-810G). The Vulcan's measurement window is not only protected from splashes and dust, but is also protected by strong sapphire glass. It comes with a 3-year warranty.
- Proven solution
- - It is a completely new second generation, developed by a team with extensive experience in the LIBS market.
- Ease of use
- - Just point and measure; the intuitive, icon-based user interface makes erroneous measurements virtually impossible.
- Modern data management
- - Carry and store all results securely in the Cloud and use one of the most modern reporting systems on the market. Vulcan connects to an app on your mobile phone for adding images to the results and sharing the data directly.
- Long battery life
- - One battery charge lasts up to 8 to 10 hours if a sample is analysed every second. Two batteries are included in the delivery.
x-ray fluorescence (XRF)
More than 400 million tonnes of scrap metal are processed every year. Scrap sorting adds value at every stage of the metal recycling process, from sorting mixed scrap and composition analysis to final control of the molten product. Our X-MET handheld analysers are used all around the world in scrap processing and in the recycling market.
Benefits of XRF
- Maximise productivity and profits by accurately identifying alloys and chemical compositions (including analysis of light and heavy elements and precious metals).
- Analyses metals and other materials such as powders, plastics and soil.
- Ease of use
- - Fast start-up for use in seconds with minimal user training required.
- Sustainable
- - IP54 protection rating (protected against dust and splashing water), tested for durability according to MIL-STD 810G (military standard).
- Low operating costs
- - Our optional protective grid window protects the device's detector when measuring chips and other sharp objects, avoiding any costly repairs.
- Powerful data management
- - Store your data on the device, on a USB stick or use our app and Cloud service ExTOPE Connect to share results directly with suppliers, customers or colleagues.
